Vendor Terms & Conditions

Vendor Registration

All vendors must complete the registration process including verification of business registration documents. Vendors must comply with all applicable tax laws and regulations in South Africa. Accurate business and banking information must be maintained at all times and updated promptly when changes occur.

Vendor Eligibility

To register as a vendor on DIY Connect, you must:

  • Be a registered business entity or sole proprietor

  • Have valid tax registration (where applicable)

  • Provide proof of identity and business registration

  • Have a valid South African bank account

  • Be at least 18 years of age

Product Listings

All products must be accurately described with clear, high-quality images. Listings must include all relevant specifications, dimensions, materials, and safety information. Products must comply with South African consumer protection laws and safety standards.

Prohibited Items

The following items may not be listed on DIY Connect:

  • Counterfeit or replica goods

  • Stolen property

  • Hazardous materials without proper documentation and approval

  • Items restricted or prohibited by South African law

  • Weapons and explosives

  • Products that infringe intellectual property rights

  • Adult content or services

DIY Connect reserves the right to remove any listings that violate these policies without notice.

Pricing & Fees

Vendors set their own product prices and must ensure pricing is accurate and competitive. DIY Connect charges a commission on each completed sale as outlined in the vendor agreement. Payment processing fees apply and are displayed in the vendor dashboard. Vendors may not artificially inflate prices to circumvent commission fees or engage in price manipulation.

Inventory Management

Vendors must maintain accurate inventory levels in their dashboard. Out-of-stock items must be marked as unavailable immediately. Failure to fulfill orders due to inventory mismanagement may result in penalties or account suspension.

Order Processing

Vendors must acknowledge receipt of orders within 24 hours and process orders within the specified timeframe (2-3 business days). Accurate tracking information must be uploaded to the platform within 24 hours of dispatch. Failure to meet processing deadlines may result in order cancellation and vendor penalties.

Vendor Responsibilities

Vendors are responsible for:

  • Ensuring product quality and authenticity

  • Packaging products securely to prevent damage during shipping

  • Providing accurate product descriptions and images

  • Responding to customer inquiries within 24 hours

  • Honoring all platform policies regarding delivery, returns, and refunds

  • Maintaining professional communication with customers

  • Resolving customer complaints in good faith

Customer Communication

All communication with customers must occur through the DIY Connect messaging system. Vendors may not contact customers outside the platform for sales purposes or to circumvent platform fees. Professional and courteous communication is required at all times.

Reviews & Ratings

Vendors may not manipulate reviews or ratings by:

  • Requesting positive reviews in exchange for compensation or discounts

  • Creating fake accounts to review their own products

  • Offering incentives for positive reviews

  • Pressuring customers to remove negative reviews

Returns & Refunds Compliance

Vendors must comply with DIY Connect's centralized returns and refunds policy. This includes:

  • Accepting eligible returns within the 14-day period

  • Processing refunds within 5-7 business days of receiving returned items

  • Covering return shipping costs for defective or incorrect items

  • Responding to return requests within 48 hours

Payment Terms

Vendors receive payment within 7-14 business days after successful delivery and completion of any return period. Payments are made after deducting platform commission, payment processing fees, and any applicable penalties. Vendors must provide valid banking details for payment processing.

Performance Standards

Vendors are expected to maintain:

  • Order fulfillment rate of at least 95%

  • Response time to customer inquiries under 24 hours

  • Customer satisfaction rating of at least 4.0 stars

  • Low return and complaint rates

Failure to meet performance standards may result in reduced visibility, account suspension, or termination.

Account Suspension & Termination

DIY Connect may suspend or terminate vendor accounts for:

  • Violation of these terms and conditions

  • Fraudulent activity or misrepresentation

  • Consistent poor performance

  • Sale of prohibited items

  • Customer complaints regarding product quality or service

  • Non-compliance with platform policies

Vendor Conduct

Vendors must:

  • Operate with integrity and honesty

  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

  • Respect intellectual property rights

  • Maintain accurate business records

  • Not engage in unfair competitive practices

  • Not disparage DIY Connect or other vendors on the platform

Intellectual Property

Vendors warrant that they have the right to sell all listed products and that products do not infringe on any intellectual property rights. Vendors indemnify DIY Connect against any claims arising from intellectual property infringement.

Data & Privacy

Vendors must comply with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and handle customer data responsibly. Customer information may only be used for order fulfillment purposes and must not be shared with third parties or used for marketing without consent.

Modification of Terms

DIY Connect reserves the right to modify these Vendor Terms and Conditions at any time. Vendors will be notified of material changes via email and continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
